The Municipality Of San Dorligo Della Valle/Občina Dolina
The Municipality of San Dorligo della Valle - Občina Dolina is situated 10 km northeast of Trieste over an area of 24.5 km2. Situated between the Karst and Istria, it borders the municipalities of Trieste, Muggia and the Republic of Slovenia.
In the municipality there is a succession of characteristic neighbouring villages overlooking the valley (S. Giuseppe della Chiusa-Ricmanje, S. Antonio in Bosco-Boršt, Moccò-Zabrežec, Bagnoli della Rosandra-Boljunec, Dolina, Crogole-Kroglje and Domio-Domjo).
The territory of the municipality is bilingual, Slovene-Italian, due to the majority of the indigenous Slovene population. This peculiarity, foreseen by the statute of the municipality, is reflected in all administrative and private activities, such as signposting or billboards, local traditions and customs.
The main characteristic of the municipal area is the beautiful Val Rosandra - Dolina Glinščice Reserve, of which the Municipality of San Dorligo della Valle - Občina Dolina is the Managing Body
